The Fate of Edom

In Ovadiah 1:18, Ovadiah Ha-Navi says that the House of Yaakov will be like fire, and the House of Esaw will be like straw. These nations will endure different obstacles and fates. Edom has tried to control Israel, but ultimately, they will be completely fall.

The descendants of Esaw includes Amalek and his descendants. Shaul Ha-Melekh of Shevet Binyamin let Agag Ha-Melekh of Amalek live. Haman was a descendant of Agag, and Mordechai was a descendant of Binyomin.. A descendant of Binyomin was the one to challenge Haman and succeed! Middah K’neged Middah!

 The Bnei Edom collaborated with the Babylonians in their invasion of Jerusalem. The Bnei Edom settled in Eretz Yisrael. This was part of the political tactic of removing nations from homelands as a means to assert control over them. The Assyrians did this to most of huamnity. The Babylonians did this with the Bnei Yisrael and Bnei Edom.

We are currently in the Galut of Edom. Currently, we have not gotten rid of Amalek. However, HaShem said to Edom: “Though you soar like the eagle and make your nest among the stars, from there, I will bring you down. (Ovadiah 1:4). The fate of the Bnei Edom is clear. Klal Yisrael should aware that their enemies will perish in the long-run. And IYH, we will be able to witness this in our lifetime.  The Nation of Edom is the grandfather of Amalek. He will also be destroyed IY”H.

Eventually, Ester Ha-Malkah of Shevet Binyamin would become the new wife of the Ruler of Persia…At this time, Persia was already ruling over Mitzrayim  and was bordering [or even ruled over] the Hindu part of the world. This was a powerful Empire. And this Empire had many states, and Haman, a stateman in Persia, and a descendant of wicked people ofthe wicked Amalaek, wanted to exterminate the Nation of Yisrael. Haman’s name is so bad that one must mock it to this very day. The Nation of Amalek was a nation that tried to exterminate the Jews after we left Mitzrayim. They were wicked, for they tried to attack us from behind (the weak and elderly that were in the back of the mass exodus crowd).

Haman plotted and plotted but with the help of Hashem, through Ester Ha-Malkah, was able to prevent him from doing so. He would die and his 10 sons would be executed via hanging. Thousands of years later, 10 Nazi War Criminals were sentenced to death via hanging. Some believe that the Nazis were descendants of Amalek. 

May all of Edom be destroyed in our lifetime. May the משיח come soon, and may Hashem destroy those who oppose his תורה.
