If one wants to know why tragedies befall the Jewish nation, maybe the Nation of Israel should examine the actions of its people! It says, the Gemara of Shabbos 139a, that tragedies befall the Nation of Israel because of the corruption in judgment.
אִם רָאִיתָ דּוֹר שֶׁצָּרוֹת רַבּוֹת בָּאוֹת עָלָיו — צֵא וּבְדוֹק בְּדַיָּינֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל
“If you see a generation that has many troubles befalling it, go and examine the judges of Israel.”
It is our duty to stand up against corruption done by Jews. The Chofetz Chaim writes about battling rabbinic corruption. It is not heretical to do so. Our beloved rabbi, an expert on Lashon Hara is saying that it is a good deed to battle the corruption of our religious Jewish leaders.
In recent years, we’ve seen an up-tick in major tragedies in Klal Yisrael. Does anyone try to create the logical, intuitive connection to figure out why Hashem is giving us these sign? Maybe our leaders are suppose to do something about these social issues? For some reason, Jewish people, especially in America, seem to be blind to this concept completely.
It is not a mere coincidence that the gematria of קטל (slaughter) is 139 – the same as the gematria of the page number that the aforementioned quote is from.
Now, whether or not this refers to the secular courts of the State of Israel counts under this, but the corruption of the Family Courts and Supreme Court of Israel is something noteworthy and negative. Thus, one would want to call for Judicial Reform. Ironically, many people are protesting this change internationally, but keep in mind that many people oppose changes that could be done to the religious courts of Israel especially when it comes to matters of divorce.
