The Name “Yehudah”

The unification of Yud and Hey with Vav and Hey create the ineffable Holy Name of G-d. The Dalet, when added into that name creates the word “Yehudah” (יהודה).

Dalet is the 4th letter of the Hebrew Alefbet and is has the Gematria of 4 – the number of letters in the Holy Name.

When we say “HaShem Ekhad”, we emphasize the Dalet (as a “Dh” sound) which could be used to put emphasis on the Name of G-d.
